Education Secretary Duncan to Give Remarks at D.C. Premiere of "American Teacher" Documentary

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give brief remarks prior to the East Coast premiere of American Teacher, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The film, a documentary from The Teacher Salary Project, portrays the state of education in this country from the viewpoint of classroom teachers in our nation's public schools. Duncan will honor the teaching profession and pay tribute to the dedicated teachers in our country who have the ability to unlock potential in their students, instill a lifelong love of learning, and change the course of so many students' lives. He will discuss the need for teachers to be fairly compensated for their work.
