On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will speak at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC, for a forum entitled “Bang for the Buck in Schooling: A Conversation with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.” Following opening remarks, the Secretary will be joined by Superintendent Shawn A. McCollough of the Nogales Unified School District (Nogales, AZ) for a discussion moderated by Frederick M. Hess, AEI resident scholar and director of education policy studies. Secretary Duncan will address the challenge of how states, districts, and institutions of higher education can do more with less in an era of lean state budgets, while still supporting state and local reform.
