Deputy Assistant Secretary to Deliver Commencement Address for Columbia Gorge Community College

Frank Chong, deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will deliver Columbia Gorge Community College’s commencement address at 3 p.m. Friday, June 10, on The Dalles campus. During his address, Chong will emphasize the need for our nation’s youth to pursue career paths that bring about positive change in the world. He also will highlight the growing number of baby boomers who are now retiring from jobs in such important fields as teaching, engineering, business and government.

Columbia Gorge Community College, a small rural college in eastern Oregon, serves 5,800 students in various programs. It is an active participant in moving the community successfully into the 21st century through educational leadership, workforce training, economic development, and community partnerships.
