Assistant Secretary Dann-Messier to Speak at Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship Open Meeting

Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will give remarks at the Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship (ACA) open meeting Thursday, Oct. 28 at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. Dann-Messier will join Department of Labor Assistant Secretary Jane Oates in a discussion and open dialogue with the ACA on the importance and benefits of partnerships between education and the workforce system.

The ACA counsels the secretary of labor on a variety of issues, including expanding participation of all segments of the workforce, improving cooperation between education and registered apprenticeship, and meeting future skill needs in expanding areas of the economy. The ACA is comprised of individuals representing labor unions, employers, and members of the public.
