- Announcement of update on the IRIS Toxicological Review of Inorganic Arsenic - EPA has revised its schedule to develop the IRIS Toxicological Review of Inorganic Arsenic (Cancer and Non-Cancer Effects of Oral Exposures). Information on the new schedule will be available on IRIS Track in the near future. (Office of Research).
- Request for Comment on Letters Seeking a Waiver of the Renewable Fuel Standard - On August 20, 2012, EPA issued a request for comment on letters seeking a waiver of the volume requirements of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). The Governors of Arkansas and North Carolina requested that EPA waive a portion of the Renewable Fuel Standard under section 211(o)(7) of the Clean Air Act. Under this statute, EPA shall decide on a waiver request within 90 days of receiving it, in consultation with the Departments of Agriculture and Energy. (Office of Transportation and Air Quality).

- 2010 CWA Annual Noncompliance Report(ANCR) for Non-Major Facilities - The 2010 CWA ANCR Report for Non-Major Facilities provides a state-by-state summary of violations and enforcement response at smaller CWA dischargers that report self-monitoring data under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. - List of Laboratories Approved for the Analysis of Cryptosporidium under the SDWA - The laboratories have passed the Laboratory Quality Assurance Evaluation Program for Analysis of Cryptosporidium under the Safe Drinking Water Act, and have been granted "Approved" status. (Office of Water).

- Publication: Freshwater Biological Traits Database (Final Report and On-line Database) - The report discusses the development of a database of freshwater biological traits for this project. The database combines several existing traits databases into an on-line format. The database is also augmented with additional traits that are relevant to detecting climate change-related effects, especially traits related to temperature tolerance and flow. (Office of Research).

- Significant New Use Rule (SNUR) (PDF) - EPA signed a Significant New Use Rule (SNUR) (PDF) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to require companies to report in advance of all new uses of long-chain perfluoroalkyl carboxylic (LCPFAC) chemicals as part of carpets or to treat carpets, including the import of new carpet containing LCPFACs. - Publication: External Peer Review Comments available on the Exposure Factors Handbook 2011 Edition (Final) - On March 3-4, 2010, an external peer review panel meeting was hosted by an independent contractor on the draft Exposure Factors Handbook: 2009 Update (External Review Draft). Completing this review, a final report of the comments from the workshop were collected and is now available. (Office of Research).

- EPA identified an additional 18 of the Work Plan chemicals for assessment during 2013 and 2014 - The 18 chemicals span the range of the Work Plan screening criteria, including some chemicals associated with specific hazards such as potential carcinogenicity or reproductive or developmental toxicity; chemicals presenting persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic potential; and chemicals found in biomonitoring or reported in consumer products. Some of these chemicals, such as the five chlorinated hydrocarbons, the three flame retardants, and the four fragrance chemicals, may present an effective opportunity to assess groups of related chemicals together.
