What is Gov. Nixon’s Transform Missouri Initiative?
Gov. Nixon’s Transform Missouri Initiative is an ambitious plan to use federal recovery dollars to create jobs for Missourians now, and to transform our economy for the years to come. Transform Missouri focuses on expanding the three pillars that support Missouri’s economy: developing our human capital; enhancing our information and transportation infrastructure; and embracing emerging technologies. No. The ARRA was passed by Congress and signed into law on February 14, 2009. With so little specific information readily available to Missourians about what Congress and the federal agencies would and would not be funding under the broad guidelines of the ARRA, Governor Nixon opened the Transform Missouri website on February 23rd so that Missourians interested in obtaining such information could submit summaries of their projects. Then, as information about funding became available, the Transform Missouri Project Team determined whether funding might be available for the proposal and, if so, where the person or entity could look for more information. This process is now complete, and the last of the responses will be sent by mid-October. Organizations seeking additional guidance after that time should monitor the Transform.Mo.gov website and the federal www.recovery.gov website for additional information.

No. Transform.mo.gov is collecting information to help make sure potential applicants get information, when it becomes available, about where and how to apply for funds. No applications for funding are being accepted at this time.
