Oregon Child Support Program

Attorney General's Message

Attorney General John Kroger
Oregon AG John Kroger

Raising and supporting children is always a challenge. Being a single parent is even harder. Every day the Oregon Child Support Program helps more than 450,000 parents provide the financial and emotional support their children need while returning crucial funds to the public treasury. I am very proud of the Oregon Child Support Program and the services it provides to help children in need, reduce reliance on public assistance, encourage family self-sufficiency and save taxpayer money.

Oregon's program is one of the most efficient agencies of its kind in the nation - a tribute to our Division of Child Support and District Attorneys' Office staff, who work long hours to help our youngest Oregonians.

I am committed to making our program even stronger. That is why we have undertaken an extensive Web site overhaul to ensure that families, employers and legal professionals have access to the resources they need to help Oregon's children. The information on www.oregonchildsupport.gov has been completely rewritten and reorganized. Today our new site is easier to navigate and hopefully more helpful than ever before.

As Attorney General, one of my highest priorities is to improve the lives of Oregon's children. This means improving how the Oregon Child Support Program communicates with the people it serves. If you have suggestions for how we can enhance or improve the Oregon Child Support Program's Web site please send your comments through our feedback form. Please also take the time to learn more about some of the other things the Oregon Department of Justice is doing to protect you and your family.
