- Most URI students come from Rhode Island (65.8%) -- Followed by Massachusetts (10.2%), New Jersey (6.3%), Connecticut (6.3%), and New York (5.8%).
- On average, URI degree-seeking undergraduates are 21 years old -- 4 percent are 25 or older.
- The most popular undergraduate major is Nursing - followed by Communication Studies, Psychology, Kinesiology and Human Development & Family Studies.
- 48 percent of 2010 freshmen are Rhode Islanders.
- 62 percent of 2010 degree-seeking undergraduates are Rhode Islanders.
- About 15% of URI female undergraduate student join sororities and 12% male undergraduate students join fraternities.
- URI students hail from 57 U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.
- 94 percent of URI freshmen live in the residence halls.
