This charming fan film pays homage to the late Dave Stevens, creator of The Rocketeer, on the 20th anniversary of the movie release.

Check out the video after the break, I’m sure Dave Stevens would have loved it.

In case you haven’t heard, the 10th Doctor David Tennant is playing vampire killing magician Peter Vincent in the upcoming Fright Night remake.

Here he is in a promotional poster looking badass, but you can check out a glimpse of his character in this trailer.

The first alien invasion story I ever saw was The War of the Worlds. Not the new one with Tom Cruise, but the original 1953 version. I couldn’t have been more than seven when I watched it on TV one sunny Saturday afternoon. Do you know why I’ve never seen the remake? Because the original scared me half to death.

There’s a scene where an alien camera-thing sort of sneaks up behind a woman. It looks like a head with three glowing eyes and it slinks down from the ceiling on a long tube of a neck. When she finally notices this monstrosity she lets out an impressive blood-curdling scream before the hero lops off the offending head with an axe. The neck then zips back up through the ceiling and into the ship hovering above them in the sky. I may have screamed.

And what do these humans do after inflicting bodily harm on the alien camera-head thingy? They grab the head to take back to their lab for study and get the heck out of Dodge because there are giant killer aliens with laser beams in the sky and all the humans have is an axe. See, smart humans. The humans in Falling Skies, however, are from the shallow end of the gene pool since rather than doing smart things, these guys excel at Stupid Human Tricks that surely have the aliens laughing as they destroy the planet. Only massive Apple fanboys would be up to spending $160 on a Steve Jobs action figure, but some company is stupid enough to produce it anyway (despite the fact that other Steve Jobs action figures and products have been swiftly addressed by Apple’s lawyers).

At any rate, ToyHaven claims that this figure will actually see the light of day at some point, but we highly doubt that it will be available for long—if at all.

If your test chamber is as messy as mine, make sure to pick up one of these handy sticker sets to warn others of potential dangers. Seriously, I wouldn’t doubt that someone could be attacked by a turret in my office right now. I’m not really sure what’s lurking in here.

Each sticker is printed on vinyl with water and UV protective laminate, so they should be able to stand up to the elements.

Is Fett saving the day or simply taking his bounty to the highest bidder? I’m going to go with the latter. The Mandalorian doesn’t look entirely out of place in Mordor. The jet pack might stick out, but it seems like everyone wears armor in Middle Earth. Artist Benjamin Collison (ferret42) felt like the fantasy worlds of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings could be put together. Why not?

More Middle Earth meets the galaxy far, far away after the break.
