Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately for Neuroscientists to study the pathogenesis and therapeutics of Alzheimer's disease in transgenic/knockout mouse models at the University of Minnesota. The postdoctoral fellow will use molecular, cellular, electrophysiological, and behavioral approaches to investigate the pathological connections between cardiovascular disease, diabetes/insulin resistance and Alzheimer's disease, and to develop potential therapies for these disorders. Ongoing projects include the investigations on protective mechanisms of anti-atherogenic and anti-diabetic agents in Alzheimer's disease funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Alzheimer's Association, and the American Health Assistance Foundation. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree with a strong background and interest in neuroscience and/or neurodegenerative disease research. Highly self-motivated and career-oriented scientists with experience in rodent brain slice electrophysiology and/or organotypic brain slice/primary neuronal cell culture are desirable. To apply, please send statement of research interests, curriculum vitae, and names and contact information of three references to:
