Baseline Inventory
The KP-CWMA conducted a baseline invasive plant inventory across
the Kenai Peninsula through targeted field surveys. These on-the-ground
surveys help identify the extent and pattern of non-native plant
invasions on the Kenai Peninsula. The data is available through
a statewide non-native plant database, Alaska Exotic Plant Information
Clearinghouse (AKEPIC). Through the CWMA, land managers should
be able to identify which non-native, invasive plant species
have the greatest potential for becoming established and/or spread
across the Kenai Peninsula. These species can then be targeted
for effective management and eradication efforts.
