Research
Research provides the basis for invasive species action. Challenges which seem impossible to overcome today may be solved in the future by new technologies - but only if we protect resources that we have now. For example, development of new plant cultivars that retain valuable horticultural characteristics and also exhibit “non-invasive” attributes reduce the likelihood of undesired spread.
Many NISC members' agencies conduct research on invasive species that is reported in a wide variety of technical journals. These include but are not limited to:
