It's opening day at Elitch's, and the coasters will be rolling once again. The park is under new management this year, but expect to see all your old favorites. Days and hours are sporadic over the next few weeks, but the doors open daily starting Memorial Day weekend.

Finding a worthy follow-up to the Denver Botanic Gardens' crowd-pleasing showcase of sculptures by famed 20th-century master Henry Moore in 2010 — their most ambitious art exhibition ever — was a knotty challenge.But the gardens have admirably met it with a just-opened tribute to Allan Houser, a Chiricahua Apache sculptor who is best known for his graceful, distinctive fusion of figuration and abstraction.

The title could mean the director himself: Sylvain Chomet ("The Triplets of Belleville"), the French animator and reanimator of lost eras, who brings the late mime Jacques Tati to wondrous and sparkling life. This is a remarkable movie: lovely, slow-paced and almost silent, rich with pathos and deft comic gestures.

Beastie Boys, "Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2"(Capitol) The Beastie Boys' latest platter is a fascinating, encompassing listen. Not only does it feature the group's three MCsAd-Rock, MCA and Mike D — rocking it old-school, expectedly silly — but it also posits them as the hip-hop elder statesmen they are, wrinkles and all.
