Trend Chart  The HSS Office of Former Worker Screening Programs (FWP)

has recently published the 2010 Former Worker Medical Screening Program Annual Report. The FWP provides for the conduct of ongoing medical screenings for former DOE Federal, contractor, and subcontractor employees to identify adverse health conditions that may have resulted from working at DOE facilities. The report is a testimony of our commitment to all those who served our nation through the important work conducted at DOE and its predecessor agencies.


Lab worker Safety Training Workshops 

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Health, Safety and Security (HSS) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) teamed to establish a model for collaborative safety training workshops across DOE sites. Worker Dialogue   Worker Dialogue

Between June 14th and July 11, 2010, the Office of Health, Safety and Security (HSS), in partnership with the nonprofit, nonpartisan National Academy of Public Administration, hosted "A Worker Dialogue: Improving Health, Safety and Security at DOE". This web-based "conversation" engaged the the Department's frontline workers in an open dialogue to discuss challenges, generate innovative ideas, and recommend ways to improve worker safety at DOE.
