The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released a Special Report, “Characteristics of Suspected Human Trafficking Incidents, 2008-2010,” which describes the characteristics of human trafficking investigations, suspects, and victims in cases opened by federally funded task forces between January 2008 and June 2010.
On June 7-10, 2011, in Orlando, Florida, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the National Gang Center will host the 2011 National Gang Symposium. Register online.
The National Institute of Corrections Web site has a new look. The newly redesigned site features streamlined access to information on new publications, events and news. The new site also includes an "Action Center" to assist users register for a class, subscribe to alerts and more.
"Thinking for a Change 3.0 - Worth the Wait!" will be held May 11, 2011. This live satellite/Internet broadcast, from the National Institute of Corrections, will prepare those who have previously been trained in the Thinking for a Change cognitive behavioral curriculum to implement the changes in updated version 3.0. The broadcast will provide an overview of the program and resources that will assist in program implementation.
