Going Green at School

  • EPA’s Healthy School Environments Web pages to serve as a gateway to on-line resources to help facility managers, school administrators, architects, design engineers, school nurses, parents, teachers and staff address environmental health issues in schools.
  • GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) is a worldwide, hands-on, primary and secondary school-based science and education program funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). Launched on Earth Day 1995, it brings together students, teachers, and scientists through the GLOBE Schools Network to support student learning and research about the environment.
     

Going Green in the Great Outdoors


America’s great outdoors offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy our natural environment.  From hunting and fishing to hiking and camping, getting outside and active is a great way appreciate the world we live in.

  • Recreation.gov offers a one stop shop to book reservations on all Federal recreation lands
  • National Park Service preserves, unimpaired, the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.. The national park system is comprised of 394 park units throughout the country.  Find one near you.
  • The Bureau of Land Management manages some of America’s most stunning landscapes and national monuments. 
  • The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has over 400 fish and wildlife refuges across the country, many offering great opportunities to get outside and active this Earth Day.
  • The Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands, which encompass 193 million acres. Visit their website to learn more about enjoying our National Forest lands.
