VA Names New Industry Innovation Competition Winners

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki announced today the second round of awards from the agency’s Industry Innovation Competition to six commercial and non–profit organizations. Five projects will provide new tools for Veteran entrepreneurs, reduce the risk of adverse drug reactions and streamline clinical coordination in VA hospitals.

VA Releases Benchmarks to Meet Energy and Sustainability Goals, Cut Costs

As part of its ongoing commitment to make government more efficient and transparent, VA released, for the first time, its FY 2010 scorecard on sustainability and energy performance. The scorecard will help VA identify and track the best opportunities to reduce pollution, improve efficiency, and cut costs. President Obama directed Federal agencies to lead by example in clean energy; and to meet a range of energy, water, pollution, and waste reduction targets. VA will update their Sustainability Plan in June, and post for the public on its website.


President Obama’s 2012 VA Budget Request

VA Publishes its Fiscal Year 2010 Performance and Accountability Report

On November 15th, VA published its FY 2010 Performance and Accountability Report (PAR). The PAR is VA’s report card and describes 2010 performance results achieved compared to performance targets.
