Transition Tracker

Message from the Mayor

Baltimore City Transition TrackerOn March 23, 2010, just 47 days after being sworn-in as the 49th Mayor of Baltimore, I received my Transition Team Report. The report is the result of a thorough and comprehensive review of all City agencies by a diverse group of more than 150 distinguished business and community leaders who are deeply committed to helping Baltimore succeed.

The report contains 49 independent recommendations to improve City Government by increasing efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring transparency and ethical conduct, increasing intergovernmental collaboration and promoting public-private partnerships. The Transition Team was also asked to explore new ways to help government provide services in the face of an unprecedented budget crisis. City Government must tighten its belt and get more value for every single tax dollar. The Transition Team Report serves as an important road map to increase efficiency in City Government.

To share our progress, we have created this new Transition Tracker, which I encourage all citizens of Baltimore to visit, to monitor our progress as we move Baltimore forward. I also ask for your input. As you navigate this website, you will find easy opportunities to share your views. We will collect your specific policy-related comments and summarize them. Visit our website for more information.
