DTIC Corporate Source
Science and Technology
Organization Authors, Corporate Authors
The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) maintains a Corporate Source Authority System (CSAS) which lists all organizations that have contributed information to any of DTIC's three major databases. The DTIC Corporate Source database is a collection of Corporate Authors. Corporate Authors are the organizations and agencies responsible for reports received by DTIC. Each record displays the standardized form of the organization's name, the organization's parent and suborganizations, and the organization's Source Code. A Source Code is a unique numeric designation assigned by DTIC to each organization in the database.

Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network
Health and Nutrition
Organ Transplant Program, Kidney, ...
The Organ Procurement Organizations and Organ Transplant Programs Locator tool is designed to help users find information about the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) resources. This tool assists users in locating places to sign up to be an organ donor, organ transplantation services, organ procurement organization (OPO), or organ transplantation program (OTP). The user searches for an organ procurement or organ transplantation program in any geographic location by entering an address or state and county. The search results listing the organ procurement organizations (OPOs) or Organ Transplantation Programs (OTPs) are returned in groups of ten (numbered from one to ten) and are sorted by increasing distance away from the address location (state and county) previously entered. For each OPO/OTP returned in the list, the user is provided the OPO/OTP name, address, telephone number, website address (where available), link to driving directions (to and from each OPO/OTP) and a link to a map from the address (or county and state) entered.

Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) Data Explorer
Education
international assessment, ...
The PISA International Data Explorer (IDE) allows users to export data and create tables, charts, and maps using data from international assessments. The IDE contains data from the 2006 administration of PISA, an international assessment of 15-year-olds in reading, mathematics, and science literacy in Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) member countries. The IDE contains average scores and context questionnaire data for the United States and participating countries. International data including U.S. data released by OECD in December 2007. Data files with U.S. only variables were made available in April 2009. The PISA Data Explorer with 2006 data went live in 2010 and was updated on December 7, 2010 with 2009 data. ED Grants: Promise Neighborhoods Fund
Education
scale-up grants, academic improvement, ...
The Promise Neighborhoods Fund website depicts open grantmaking information on the applicants received, grantees awarded and project locations. The purpose of Promise Neighborhoods is to improve significantly the educational and developmental outcomes of children in our most distressed communities, and to transform those communities by-- (1) Supporting efforts to improve child outcomes and ensure that data on those outcomes are communicated and analyzed on an ongoing basis by leaders and members of the community; (2) Identifying and increasing the capacity of eligible entities that are focused on achieving results and building a college-going culture in the neighborhood; (3) Building a complete continuum of cradle-through-college-to- career solutions (continuum of solutions), which has both academic programs and family and community supports, with a strong school or schools at the center. Academic programs must include (a) High-quality early learning programs designed to improve outcomes in multiple domains of early learning; (b) programs, policies, and personnel for children in kindergarten through the 12th grade that are linked to improved academic outcomes; and (c) programs that prepare students for college and career success. Family and community supports must include programs to improve student health, safety, community stability, family and community engagement, and student access to 21st century learning tools. The continuum of solutions also must be linked and integrated seamlessly so there are common outcomes, a focus on similar milestones, support during transitional time periods, and no time or resource gaps that create obstacles for students in making academic progress. The continuum also must be based on the best available evidence including, where available, strong or moderate evidence, and include programs, policies, practices, services, systems, and supports that result in improving educational and developmental outcomes for children from cradle through college to career; (4) Integrating programs and breaking down agency "silos" so that solutions are implemented effectively and efficiently across agencies; (5) Supporting the efforts of eligible entities, working with local governments, to build the infrastructure of policies, practices, systems, and resources needed to sustain and "scale up" proven, effective solutions across the broader region beyond the initial neighborhood; and (6) Learning about the overall impact of Promise Neighborhoods and about the relationship between particular strategies in Promise Neighborhoods and student outcomes, including a rigorous evaluation of the program.

USGS Energy Geochemistry Database
Natural Resources
Rock-Eval pyrolysis, Geochemistry, Coal Quality, ...
Since January of 1989, the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) Energy Resources Program Geochemistry Laboratory Data Base has grown to contain the analytical data for over 200,000 samples worldwide. The Energy Geochemistry Data Base (EGDB) contains chemical analysis data for crude oil, natural gas, coal, water, and rock samples analyzed by the USGS Energy Resources Team's Geochemistry Laboratory, or by contracted-service laboratories. Data was also obtained from the literature and unpublished public domain sources. The sample types included are primarily rock, coal, oil, and gas. This information is used by the USGS for worldwide energy resource assessments and is periodically released to the public. Analytical data within the EGDB includes Rock-Eval pyrolysis, organic mass spectrometry, vitrinite reflectance, gas chromatography, stable carbon isotopes, inductively coupled plasma, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, mercury analysis and a number of other related geochemistry analyses that, in some instances, predate the EGDB. Throughout the years the Energy Program scientists have utilized these data to not only develop an understanding of the physical and geochemical processes responsible for hydrocarbon formation. but also as a tool to assess the oil and gas potential for sedimentary basins in both national and international settings.
