Westminster police on Tuesday announced they made two arrests in connection with the Veterans Day robbery of a 91-year-old Marine Corps veteran.

Not long ago, I was decorating for the wedding of a friend's son. Three other ladies were responsible for the food served at the occasion. I was standing in the hallway of the facility by the kitchen talking to one of those ladies, Deborah Eck, who also is a patron at the Paul Derda Recreation Center. While we were talking, she bent over to reach some food that was on a low shelf of a nearby cart. She moaned a little while bending down, and took some extra time in standing up. Deb only needed two words to describe her situation as she looked up at me, "Holiday Meltdown."
