About the Show
Be The Change: The Making of We Day is the story of Free the Children, the largest Non-Governmental Organization of children helping children in the world.
Free The Children has built 650 schools around the world and is committed to eliminating the barriers keeping kids out of school.
Free the Children’s signature event We Day brings together more than 40,000 students in three cities across Canada to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change in the world. Be The Change: The Making of We Day explores the making of this event.
We hear the incredible life stories of two key speakers: Michel Chikwanine, a former child soldier from Congo and Spencer West, born with a condition that resulted in the loss of both his legs.
Along with Marc and Craig Kielburger, Free The Children's founders, Michel and Spencer walk us through the importance of living Me to We and being socially aware.
We also hear from Dr. Spence, Director of Education at the Toronto District School Board and Katy Whitfield, who teaches the Free the Children curriculum in her class room.
Moving and very uplifting, these inspiring story tellers show why changing the world is cool and necessary today.
