  • Spring cleaning? Charities may take your stuff For seniors or older adult children, downsizing, or helping someone else downsize or clean out a home, or just cope with spring cleaning, can be a daunting task. Older knees don't bend as well, and older backs don't do the heavy lifting as well any more. But, there are charitable groups that will come to a residence to relieve you of some of the things you no longer use or want and the donation of those things often make the lives of others better in the process. Before you hire a junk dealer who will charge you for the privilege of removing the stuff, get one of the charities to remove what they can. You'll be helping others, and you'll pay less for junk removal later.
