New On-line Threshold Screening Tool Now Available
This new Threshold Screening Tool is being made available solely as a reference tool to help determine whether your facility is legally obligated to report TRI data to EPA under Section 313 of the EPCRA. The Tool provides an interactive environment that will guide a facility through the calculations for industry sector, employee and chemicals thresholds. The sole use of this tool does not satisfy the reporting requirements of EPCRA Section 313(g)(2).

RY 2010 TRI-MEweb Application and Reporting Materials Now Available
The RY 2010 version of TRI-MEweb is now available for facilities to begin preparing and submitting TRI forms for RY 2010. The TRI-MEweb application is EPA's preferred method for reporting chemical releases under the TRI Program. TRI-MEweb allows facilities to file a paperless report, significantly reducing data errors and allowing instant receipt confirmation of submissions. For those facilities submitting paper forms, note that TRI forms can now be completed online prior to printing. PDF forms and important reporting instructions are available here. The deadline to submit TRI forms for RY 2010 is midnight on July 1, 2011.
RY 2009 TRI National Analysis Now Available
EPA has published its annual TRI National Analysis of the most recent TRI data, which outlines national and local trends in toxic chemical disposal or other releases to the environment, as well as trends in toxic chemicals managed by TRI facilities. This year, EPA is offering additional information to make the data more relevant, meaningful and accessible to communities. The TRI National Analysis now highlights toxic disposal and other releases to large aquatic ecosystems, selected urban communities, and tribal lands. In addition, portions of the analysis are available in Spanish for the first time.
EPA Finalizes Rule to Add 16 Chemicals to TRI Chemical List
EPA has finalized a rule to add 16 chemicals reasonably anticipated to be human carcinogens to the TRI list of reportable chemicals. This action is part of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to examine the scope of TRI chemical coverage and provide communities with more complete information on toxic chemical releases. It is the largest chemical expansion of the program in over a decade.
TRI Information Collection Request Renewal
On February 11, 2011, EPA published a Federal Register notice (76 FR 7841-7844) requesting comment on proposed changes and renewal of the Form R, Form A, Form R Schedule 1 and the Information Collection Request (ICR) for the TRI Program. As part of this ICR renewal, the TRI Program recommends minor revisions to Form R and Form A. This ICR also proposes systematic revisions to the burden methodology. Then comment period on this first notice is now closed.
