A masterpiece of innovation, Active Fuel Management allows the engine to seamlessly shift from eight to four cylinders temporarily whenever less power is needed.
In situations where extra power isn�t needed, such as cruising at highway speeds, AFM deactivates four of the eight cylinders to become a V-4. For passing, trailering or hilly terrain, pressing the accelerator can reactivate all eight cylinders in milliseconds. For even greater power when necessary, the electric drive system can automatically engage for extra torque.
