Welcome to recovery.wv.gov.  You will find information here on President Obama’s recovery plan for America, officially known as The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act or ARRA, and how the recovery funds will be distributed in West Virginia.  The State of West Virginia is currently projected to receive over $1.8 billion in one-time additional federal revenues from ARRA. The distribution of these funds will be undertaken with responsibility and appropriate oversight.  The overall purpose of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is to:

  • Preserve and create jobs to promote economic recovery
  • Provide investments in technological advances in science and health
  • Invest in transportation, environmental protection, and other long term infrastructure improvements
  • Stabilize state and local government budgets

This website has been established to provide transparency with regard to ARRA funds by listing the dollar amounts to be spent in West Virginia, similar to the Obama administration's website established at Recovery.gov. West Virginians will be able to access information and have questions answered on the site concerning the investment of these taxpayer funds. This is your money - and Governor Manchin and the legislature believe that the government should be held accountable for managing it responsibly.
