Profiler Control Center Operations

The Profiler Control Center (PCC) located in Boulder, CO is the focal point for profiler network operations. Data from all profiler sites are ingested by the Profiler Hub computer system and made available for display within six minutes of arrival. Meteorologists and technicians use graphical and text-based displays to monitor profiler data and status. PCC technicians use diagnostic tools to remotely monitor and diagnose profiler system failures. Once a failure is detected, the PCC technicians coordinate remedial maintenance activities with National Weather Service (NWS) technicians. Replacement profiler system components are warehoused at the National Logistics Supply Center (NLSC) and shipped to local NWS Field Offices. NWS field engineers visit the profiler sites at their earliest opportunity and either repair or replace failed components or Line Replaceable Units (LRU).

If you need to contact the PCC call (303) 497-6033. If you need to contact a specific employee, see the NPN Staff Listing for individual phone numbers and email addresses.
