    A Waller County Jail inmate has been charged in the death of a Brookshire woman who was found stabbed to death in her apartment more than two months ago.

    Authorities have charged Vincent W. Sauls, 24, with the murder of 63-year-old Mary Solomon.

    Katy Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9182 Commander Peyton Lumpkin holds the All-American Post Award plaque for 2008-09 that the Katy post received, for the first time, in recognition of outstanding contributions made by post members.

    The Katy post ranks in the top 2 percent of all posts in the world, according to Lumpkin.
