    Old Town Spring is hosting an Independence Day event on July 3. The town's shops will be decorated for the holiday and free lemonade and watermelon will be handed out. There will be a fireworks display as darkness falls at Hyde's Cafe.

    Lone Star College-North Harris is offering a Basic Automotive Maintenance class through the college’s continuing education program. The four-week class costs only $51 and meets every Friday from July 16 through August 6.

    The Spring High School Wind Ensemble has advanced to Area competition in the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Band competition. The wind ensemble, directed by Gabe Musella, received first-place votes from four out of five judges, placing them first in the regional competition.
