Motorcyclist dies after recent crash in west Houston

A motorcyclist died last week at the hospital after he was injured in a traffic crash in west Houston about three weeks ago. Jerry Lee Lewis, 40, of Katy, was seriously injured in the wreck, which occurred in the 1300 block of Texas 6 North about 2:10 a.m. June 3, police said. Police said Lewis died from his injuries Friday at Ben Taub General Hospital

Woman arrested in hit-and-run death in north Houston

A driver has been arrested after allegedly running down and killing a woman who was standing in a bike lane and sweeping her driveway in north Houston earlier this month. Maria Guadalupe Reyes, 33, of Houston, is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the wreck that occurred in the 400 block of Crosstimbers about 9 a.m. June 20. Maria Hernandez, 57, was killed.

Power outage forces students from Pasadena elementary

Students are being sent home from a Pasadena elementary school after a small electrical fire knocked out power at two neighboring campuses. The incident occurred about 9 a.m. at Stuchbery Elementary School at 11210 Hughes Road in the Pasadena Independent School District, officials said. Power was knocked out at the campus and at nearby Thompson Intermediate School.
