    According to a Chronicle story by Mike Glenn, police are searching for a northwest Houston man charged in a shooting death at an apartment complex. Joshua Leon Marshall, 23, was charged with capital murder in the May 9 slaying of Reginald King.

    Mom sent fearful texts before her killing

    According to a Chronicle story by Peggy O'Hare and Dale Lezon, a woman found strangled along a road just east of downtown Houston last week had sent two fearful text messages to her mother suggesting she was in danger just hours before her death.

    Driver dies after slamming into pole on I-45

    According to a Chronicle brief, a 24-year-old man died and twin his brother was hospitalized after the vehicle they were in slammed into a utility pole in north Houston early Sunday morning, Houston police said.

    2 firefighters, resident injured in house fire

    Two firefighters and a resident were hurt in a blaze that damaged two homes in northeast Houston early this morning. The fire broke out at a house in the 3200 block of Fontinot about 1 a.m.

    Big gator found strolling the streets near I-45
