Protesters have stormed a police station on Saturday in Suez following fierce clashes with security forces, and freed prisoners there.

At least 270 people have been injured in Port Said after unidentified assailants opened fire on a funeral procession for protesters killed during clashes in the city Saturday, the Turkish Anadolu news agency quoted the local Health Ministry as saying.

Live ammunition, birdshot and tear gas were responsible for most of the injuries. Eyewitnesses claim to have seen masked groups shooting security troops in Police Club Square during the funeral procession.

In an attempt to scare the public with a looming cyber attack on US infrastructure, US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is once again pushing Congress to pass legislation allowing the government to have greater control over the Internet.

Napolitano issued the warnings Thursday, claiming that inaction could result in a “cyber 9/11” attack that could knock out water, electricity and gas, causing destruction similar to that left behind by Hurricane Sandy.

The US defence department is at loggerheads with the chief prosecutor at Guantánamo Bay over what the charges should be. The five men, whose pretrial hearings reconvene at the naval base next week, face eight different charges.

An MP's son who joined an online “club” of perverts who shared sickening images of child abuse has been handed a suspended jail term.

Henry Kissinger recently gave an ominous forecast on the future of Iran's nuclear program: that it will be taken care of one way or another very soon.

The irony of someone like Attorney General Eric Holder taking the first steps on Friday to begin implementing some of Barack Obama’s 23 executive orders is quite telling, especially since he is still embroiled in the midst of a bloody gun running scandal known as Fast and Furious. Holder released three proposals that are “intended to promote public safety, to enhance the efficiency of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) operations, and to resolve difficulties created by unforeseen processing conflicts within the system.”

Never mind that Vice President Joe Biden said they didn’t have time to prosecute those that lied on forms that would be submitted as part of purchasing a firearm.

The proposals put forth by the Obama Justice Department include giving local law-enforcement agencies access to the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) gun-sale database. This would also included preserving records of denied weapons sales indefinitely.
