Write for Technorati

Thank you for your interest in being part of the Technorati writing community.

We publish original content in a wide variety of topics and are interested in blog reviews, breaking news, trend pieces, tag page articles and opinion-focused posts. We will accept most anything that is timely, news-focused, interesting and most importantly, well-written. Articles must be in English and we encourage all writers to contribute at least once a week.

The advantages of writing for Technorati over "going it alone" include:

  • Being able to grow as a writer, with the help of our dedicated team of professional and experienced editors;
  • Gaining visibility of your personal brand and writing samples, since all articles appear on Technorati's RSS and Twitter feeds as well as Google News;
  • Working alongside fellow bloggers who share your interests, or may even inspire you to cover different topics;
  • Writing for one of the most well-respected, well-known and most resourceful website that is synonymous with the blogosphere;
  • Developing oneself into an expert in your own field and helping you further establish your online brand;
  • Receiving interesting and timely story ideas;
  • Having access for interview opportunities; and,
  • Receiving tips from our experienced editorial team and fellow writers from the Technorati community.

Some other details of what we're looking for in our writers, content and how we manage the site:

  • Articles must be around 200-400 words in length (though 100 is acceptable for breaking news)
  • Articles must pertain to current news and/or trends; opinion and commentary pieces are acceptable, but absolutely need to be based on news or trends
  • Articles must be submitted and published first by and on Technorati
  • Articles must be authentic and written by you; not copy found elsewhere
  • Articles must have attribution to all facts, figures, quotes and statements made
  • Articles must use correct grammar and punctuation
  • Articles will be edited for content and clarity
  • Articles will be sent back for revisions if they do not meet our standards

If you have any questions about our policies, writer guidelines or areas of need in terms of content, please email our executive editor.

Before you submit your application, please take a look around the site to get a feel for how we approach things. It is important to get a feel for what we're looking for -- not only in terms of content, but writing style as well. With that said, the Technorati editorial team has the right to ask you to further edit any article or, in the rare case, reject any post that doesn't fit our guidelines. If you don’t have a blog, we’re still happy to work with you, but please provide at least three examples of original writing.

If this makes sense for you, please take a minute or two to submit a writer application. We will get back to you with all due haste.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you!
