Joe Cotter, 60, has been painting murals for over 20 years. This mural of the Buckman Community, commissioned by the city through the East Side Big Pipe project, is on the side of the Plaid Pantry at SE 12th and Morrison. Cotter started this mural last summer but today is the first time this year he's had a chance to come back and work on it. He says he meets a lot of the people in the community when he does a job like this. Cotter figures to have over 1000 hours in this project before it's done later this year.
