The Illinois Office of Communication and Information’s mission is to communicate the programs, services, and opportunities for the State of Illinois to its citizens.
The Illinois Office of Communication and Information is a resource for the news media and others in terms of gathering and disseminating information about the state’s agencies and departments. It is a full-service operation, including a directory of media contacts for state government entities as well as video, satellite, radio, photography, and web services. The Office also provides a daily press summary to subscribers for a nominal fee and issues press releases statewide.

Effective January 1, 2010, there will be a fee for video work that is not related to news events. Fees will be assessed to services provided for training videos, public service announcements not tied to a press conference, and marketing and documentary projects.
