SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is closing state-owned and managed caves that support bat populations as part of a national effort to slow the spread of the mysterious white-nose syndrome affecting bats in the northeastern United States.

Books explain the rules and entry deadlines for thousands of state fair contests
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Premium books for the 2010 Illinois State Fair are now available online.
The books, which explain the rules, entry deadlines and prizes for the fair’s more than 8,700 competitive events, are posted in .pdf format at www.illinoisstatefair.info. Just click on the “Competitions” tab. The premium books are listed in the menu on the left side of the page.
