6-year-old Arlington boy dies after falling from car driven by sister, 14
05:05 PM CST on Friday, March 12, 2010
A 6-year-old boy died after falling from a vehicle his 14-year-old sister was driving away after a fight with a family member, police said.
The boy, identified as Muhammad Salehzada, was injured about 5 p.m. Wednesday at the family’s home in the 1700 block of Creek Park Trail in southeast Arlington.
Police said the girl had just had an argument with a family member when she got into the car. Her brother was trying to get in when he fell and hurt his head. It’s unclear whether the teen knew her brother was following her, police said.
Muhammad was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center, where he died Thursday afternoon.
The girl, who was not identified because of her age, has been charged with injury to a child and failure to stop and render aid. She was admitted to a juvenile detention facility and later released into the custody of a guardian.
