Threepeat! Vonn wins overall title
Lindsey Vonn clinched her third consecutive overall title Friday when she won the final super-G race of the season. It was her 11th victory this season and the 33rd of her career, making Vonn the most successful skier in U.S. history with one more win than Bode Miller. Liu returns, but more hurdles await
Aside from Usain Bolt, there is no bigger star in track & field than Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang. His recovery from a devastating Achilles injury has deprived everyone of seeing him compete for almost two years. Liu made a guarded return to the global stage Friday, advancing in the men's 60m hurdles at the IAAF World Indoor Championships. Watch on UniSports TV at 6 p.m. ET.
Davis bounces back to win season title
After a disappointing silver-medal finish in Vancouver, Shani Davis was golden Friday at the World Cup finale in Heerenveen, winning the 1500m event and racing away with the season title. Mark Tuitert, who topped Davis at the Olympics, came in fourth. On the women's side, Vancouver champion Martina Sablikova clinched the World Cup title over 3000m / 5000m.
Lesson for Marion: Truth has set Chambers free
Two of the central figures in the BALCO scandal, Dwain Chambers and Marion Jones, have seen their careers since take drastically opposite turns. Chambers is a gold medal favorite in the 60m at the World Indoor Championships in Doha. Jones has been relegated to basketball purgatory in Tulsa. Bennati moves into blue at Tirreno
Liquigas' Daniele Bennati edged fellow Italian Alessandro Petacchi to win Stage 3 at Tirreno-Adriatico on Friday. It was the first-ever stage win at the race for Bennati, who picked up enough time on the day to move into the race-leader's blue jersey. Ligety repeats as GS champ; Janka wins overall
Ted Ligety captured the second giant slalom globe of his career Friday after finishing tied for third in the season-ending race. The American first won the title in 2008. Swiss Carlo Janka won the race and clinched the overall title ahead of Austrian Benjamin Raich.

Hoelzl captures giant slalom globe
Germany's Kathrin Hoelzl won the giant slalom title on Thursday when she finished second in the discipline's final race. Slovenia's Tina Maze won, while Maria Riesch finished third.
