The North Texas Super Bowl is even rubbing off on Big Tex.
Super Sized Fun is the theme of this fall’s State Fair of Texas, fair officials announced Wednesday.
The State Fair is working with the North Texas Super Bowl host committee to find ways to get more involved with the big game. Officials said more details will be announced in coming months.
Super Bowl XLV will be played in Arlington’s Cowboys Stadium in 2011.
And corny dogs and the Texas Star Ferris wheel are just six months away. The State Fair of Texas runs Sept. 24-Oct. 17.
The annual Texas-Oklahoma and Grambling State-Prairie View A&M football games will be back. The Cotton Bowl is also hosting a new game during the fair featuring Texas Tech and Baylor. Additionally, another soccer match-up is in the works.
Elsewhere, fair officials are overseeing construction of an 8,000-square-foot greenhouse that will cultivate hundreds of plants and be used as an educational feature during the fair.
Shrek the Musical has been booked for the Music Hall, which marks its 85th anniversary during this year’s fair.
