Collecting money for a charity, I was struck by an eerie similarity of the $1s, $5s and $10s. Despite coming from different individuals, representing diverse Collin County communities, there was one marked similarity. Every one of the bills was weary and worn. Crumpled beyond use in any automated machine. Nonetheless, these bills still represent monetary significance.

We live in a sports-crazy world. We don't just love to watch sports or bet on the games. We love to play the games, and when we can no longer play, we teach our kids to compete. Victoria John of Dallas: Great tales of epic journeys

As I was leaving school on Friday afternoon, I passed our admissions director and her son. I asked him what grade he was in, and he responded, "I'm not in a grade, I'm in kindergarten." Before I could ask another question, he burst forth with an excited smile, revealing two missing front teeth, and announced, "We're going to see The Lightning Thief ."
