Plastic sheeting surrounds Texas Stadium as crews removes the asbestos from the stadium's surfaces in preparation for the implosion.

Crews fill the lower bowl of the stadium with dirt, which is coming from nearby construction of the coming DART Orange Line, which will run along State Highway 114.

The inside of the once mythic building is a far cry from what fans were used to seeing on any given Sunday.

The once-coveted suites are gutted, their floors torn up and their walls stripped or torn down.

The concrete portals once led fans to the lower bowl seating sections, now crews have removed the concrete seating supports and are filling in the holes with dirt in preparation for demolition.

Plastic sheeting is secured in a Texas Stadium tunnel so crews can remove asbestos from the concrete surfaces.

The stadium's red lot, east of the intersection of State Highway 114 and Loop 12, will be open for people to watch the implosion.

Crews have jack hammered the iconic buttresses supporting the stadium roof of Texas Stadium to determine how much dynamite to use used for the implosion.

City officials said that will help with the clean up after the implosion because the debris won't have to be dug out of a sunken hole.

Dump trucks deliver dirt from the Orange Line site throughout the day, driving through the tunnel opposite where players once came onto the field.

Crews used a cutting torch to weaken steel supports in Texas Stadium. The structure won't fall all at once, instead the blasts will be timed to bring it down over the coarse of about a minute.

The Cowboys spent 38 seasons at Texas Stadium, winning five Super Bowls and seven conference championships while calling it home. It comes down April 11 shortly after dawn.
