High school graduates from the Birdville Independent School District are getting one year of college for free.

The Dallas Business Journal reports that the Birdville ISD will sign an agreement with Tarrant County College on Monday that will allow spring graduates from Richland, Haltom or Birdville high schools to attend classes for one year, free of charge.

More than 1,000 students are expected to graduate from the schools this semester, the paper reports.

Money from the school district's oil and gas lease is funding the program.
