SURPRISE, Ariz. - The revamped Rangers will see the entire AL West over the first half of the week. They certainly didn't make much of an impression on the defending division champs Monday.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Your daily dose of semi-witty witticisms and pertinent observations comes up right after the jump. The Rangers are beginning three straight games against AL West opponents. They go to Phoenix to face Oakland on Tuesday and host Seattle on Wednesday.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Tanner Scheppers is making some kind of impression on Rangers' folks this spring. In a "B" game Monday, he made his second appearance of the spring and pitched two scoreless innings against Kansas City, showing off a sharp curve ball for the first time.
Josh Hamilton will make his spring debut today, playing in the A game and batting third against the Angels. He'll play no more than five innings and will play left...
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Ready for Rosterology (take that ESPN marketing geniuses!), Part 3? First, you can familiarize yourself with Parts 1 and 2, if you wish. At least now we have some guys - three of them - on which to base roster decisions. The only place where there has been real uncertainty to this point is on the bench and that's liable to remain an issue all spring. SURPRISE, Ariz. - Here is how they will line up. In the "A" game: RHP Brandon McCarthy, RHP Colby Lewis, RHP Darren O'Day, RHP Luis Mendoza, LHP Derek Holland and LHP Ben Snyder. In the morning "B" game: RHP Tanner Scheppers, LHP Michael Kirkman, LHP Zach Phillips, RHP Pedro Strop and RHP Warner Madrigal. March 7, 2010

SURPRISE, Ariz. - Manager Ron Washington was as happy as he's ever going to be after a loss on Saturday.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - After taking live batting practice and another round off the coaching staff, Josh Hamilton said he hopes to play in Sunday's "B" game against Kansas City, providing his shoulder doesn't act up over night.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Hello again, everybody. Bee-you-teeful day for a game. Let's ... play two. Or maybe not. Anyway, hopefully you know the drill. Just beyond the jump lies (lays?) a plethora of pithy observations and a bunch of brief notes. So, get to clicking.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Right-hander Tanner Scheppers will pitch in a back-field "B" game Sunday morning. Good seats may be hard to come by. |
