Zack Greinke pitched three scoreless innings, and Kansas City reserves broke open a close game with a two-run eighth inning against Neftali Feliz in a 4-2 victory over the Rangers....
SURPRISE, Ariz. - With Tom Hicks and Nolan Ryan on hand, the Rangers will look to extend their dominance of the Kansas City Royals to two straight games this spring, starting right about ... now. Of significant interest will be the performances of LHP C.J. Wilson and RHP Neftali Feliz, who are scheduled to pitch this afternoon. Wilson will handle the third and fourth and Feliz the seventh and eighth. Flip the page for ongoing pithy commentary and witty observations, or at least my pitiful attempt at both.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Upon arriving at spring training Friday, Rangers president and soon-to-be minority owner Nolan Ryan held to his prediction of 92 wins for the team, but said he wasn't setting any benchmarks the club had to hit.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Calling it a "bittersweet moment," Tom Hicks arrived Friday for what he expects will be his last spring training excursion as principal owner of the Rangers. While watching batting practice, Hicks said he believes the sale process will be finalized to transfer ownership to a group headed by Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan.

SURPRISE, Ariz. - Occasionally, you work on a story for the print product and gather enough information to write a theme paper. Newspapers don't have the space for those theme papers, so some interesting things end up left out. That's why on the web, we can bring more to the story of Julio Borbon's transition to Rangers center fielder/leadoff hitter.
SURPRISE, Ariz. - Ron Washington fully endorses Nolan Ryan's prediction of 92 wins: "We should. We should break the 87 wins and add to that. We are a better team, and we believe we are a better team. If they do what they can and we stay healthy, we should win that many games. We can play. I know that. We can play."
Andy Silverman, the Rangers executive vice president in charge of sales, is leaving the Rangers to take a job as vice president of sales and service with the Florida Marlins. Also former Hall of Fame president Dale Petroskey has left the organization.
Do you think the Rangers will be able to avoid major injuries with a roster that has a lot of players with past injury problems? That's a pressing question for... |
