Terri Waylene Meador

Terri Waylene Meador, 48 of Dallas passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Farmers Branch.She was born August 10, 1961 in Bridgeport to Arvil Erwin and Sherian Jones. She was formerly employed with Irving ISD as a sign language interpreter.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.

She is survived by daughter, Britney Hurmence of Aubrey; mother, Sherian Jones and husband Bill; father, Arvil Erwin; sister, Sherri Bishop of Conroe; brother, Greg Erwin of KS; and soul-mate, Randy Barnett of Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Terri Meador funeral expense, c/o DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Dr., Denton, Texas 76201.

 

 

Rayford David Wallace

Rayford David Wallace, 64, of Sanger, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.

He was born April 6, 1945 in Marshall, TX to Ernest and Lennie (Flanagan) Wallace. He was married to Judy Hadley on Aug. 22, 1969 in Fort Worth, TX He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 1101 Audra Lane Denton, TX with Rev. Randy Snow officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 for visitation from 6 – 8 pm.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Judy Wallace, of Sanger, son Robert Wallace, of Illinois, sister Louise Smith of Cleburne, TX and brother Jerry Wallace of Sanger, TX and two grandchildren. On line condolences may be made at www.mulkeymason.com  .

 

 

Martha Belle Warren Boswell

Martha Belle Warren Boswell was sung to the Lord by her family on February 27, 2010.

Ms. Martha was born in Corn, TX on May 24, 1922. She married Don Boswell in Denton, TX on her birthday in 1947 and they lived there until they moved to Arlington, TX in 1955. Martha was known for her love of family and neighbors, and was always available with an attentive ear.She cared for children at Mother’s Day Out at First Christian Church- Arlington for 13 years. Martha was a member of University Baptist Church in Arlington, TX for over 50 years.

A visitation will be held on March 3, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 pm at the Moore Memorial Garden.

Martha is survived by her children, Donald Ray Boswell and wife Sandra, daughter, Dianna Roseberry and husband Fred, and son, Dennis; siblings, Mary Seitz, Tom Warren, Nanza Shepelwich, Elwanda Meeker, and Marion Warren; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.O. and Dot Warren; her husband of 49 years, Don Boswell; siblings, Ray Warren, Lena Grissom, and Sue Belt.

Memorial donations may be made to First Financial Bank Alvarado, The Gardens at Chisholm Trail in Keene, TX, or Mission Hospice in Cleburne, TX.

Services are under the direction of Denton Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

 

 

Jimmie D Brown

Jimmie D Brown, Jr., 46, of Aubrey, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Denton Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 2, 1963 to Jimmie D Brown, Sr. and Reba Estelle New Brown in Fort Worth. Jimmie attended Texas A&M and graduated from Le Tourneau University in 1996.He was the Pastor of New Life Worship Center for 13 years, Mayor Pro-Tem for City of Aubrey since 2008, served on city council since 2005, served as a reserve police officer for Aubrey and Krugerville, and also served the Denton Police Department for 12 years.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3 from 6-8 p.m. at New Life Worship Center in Pilot Point.A memorial service will be Thursday, March 4 at 10 a.m. at the New Life Worship Center with Pastor Damon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Jeff Brown of Goldthwaite, TX, John Brown of Denton, Jason Hicks of Krum, Jason Boor of Aubrey, Steve Lackey of Aubrey, Cory Courtney of Jacksonville, FL, Elder Daryl Fox of Aubrey, and Heath Hudson of Pilot Point.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Michelle Brown of Aubrey; parents, Jimmie and Reba Brown of Denton; daughter, Kyndal Brown of Aubrey, sons, Nicholas Brown of Aubrey, and Matthew Brown and wife Jamie, of Aubrey; brothers, Jeff Brown of Goldthwaite, TX, and John Brown of Denton; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brown Family Benefit Account at Point Bank.

 

 

Nancy Lavern Moon

Nancy Lavern Moon, 83, of Valley View passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Wise Regional Hospital in Decatur.

She was born February 19, 1927 in Lois, TX to Tom Sterling and Dami Murl (Biggerstaff) Stephenson. Nancy attended Era and Bermuda Schools. She married Charlie Floyd Moon June 7, 1943 in Gainesville, Texas. She had worked at the White Orchid Café in Gainesville during the War and at Victor Equipment as an assembler. She had also worked as a cook at Valley View and McAlister ISD. Nancy was a homemaker, babysitter and a member of Valley View Church of Christ. Known as “Sis” to her siblings, “Nanny” to her grandchildren and “Nana” to her great-grandchildren, Nancy was an avid quilter. She and her husband Charlie had made many beautiful quilts together.

Graveside services for Nancy Lavern Moon are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Valley View Cemetery, with Mr. David Gray, Pastor of Hillcrest Church of Christ officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Survivors of Mrs. Moon include daughter Janet Blackwelder of Valley View, sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Sandra Moon of Valley View and Troy and Phyllis Moon of Valley View, grandchildren, Les Moon, Lynn Fisher, Jason Moon, Jeremy Moon, Clint Blackwelder, Teresa Moon and Russell Moon, great-grandchildren, Luke Moon, Lauren Moon, Landen Moon, Kyle Moon, Caleb Moon and Cooper Fisher; sisters and brother-in-law, Nelda Ford of Valley View and Rae Ann and Weldon Davis of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Doris Stephenson of Valley View; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Moon; parents, Tom and Damie Stephenson; sons, Dale and Lynn Hale Moon; sister, Sterlina Stephenson; brothers, Wallace Stephenson and Sterling Stephenson; son-in-law, Randy Blackwelder and aunts and uncles.

Laura Lucille Enlow, of Denton, passed away on February 28, 2010 in Denton. She was born in Denton County to Solomon and Anna Lee (Jones) Charles. She was married to Joe Enlow in 1935 in Tioga, and he passed away in 1978.She was a retired teacher, having taught for forty year she retired from the Sanger ISD in Sanger, TX.She also taught in other Denton County Schools and Leakey and Uvalde Public Schools. She is a member of the Gribble Springs Baptist Church, the Kappa Kappa Iota, and Texas Teachers Association. She was a graduate of Denton High school and the University of North Texas.

A funeral service will be held at11 am on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Gribble Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Doug Crabb, officiating. The burial will follow in the Gribble Springs Cemetery. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 6-8 pm.Memorials may be made to the Gribble Springs Baptist Church.

Maxine Ussery

Maxine Ussery passed away Sunday morning, February 28, 2010, at the Carriage House in Denton TX. Maxine was born in Yell County, AK. She graduated from Ola Arkansas High School. She received two degrees from North Texas University in Denton, TX. She taught elementary grades for 43 years.Thirty-five of which were in Justin and Lewisville, TX.

Maxine became a Christian at the age of 9.She was a Charter Member of the Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville in 1962. Lakeland and its ministry were a very large part of her life.

Ms Ussery was a life member of Texas P.T.A. She was a member of the Retired Teachers, Eastern Star and Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was first runner up as “Texas Teacher of the Year” in 1975.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Sally Ussery, sisters, Rhea Ussery, Bessie Ussery, and Inez Fowler. She is survived by niece Jean Kiracofe and husband Richard of Denton, TX and a great niece, Deborah Kiracofe of Glen Rose, TX; several cousins including Deck Thornsberry and Don and Phyllis Sanders and a host of friends. The family is eternally grateful for the wonderful love and care given Maxine by the Staff of Carriage House, where she resided the last few years.

Viewing will be from 11 - 3 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, in the Angel Center at Lakeland Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life, Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010, 3 p.m. at Lakeland Baptist Church, 397 Stemmons Frwy, Lewisville, Texas.A private burial will follow.

John Rasberry, Jr

John Rasberry, Jr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 1, 2010.

He was born on September 10, 1923 to John Benjamin Rasberry, Sr. and Ivy Eleanor Martin Rasberry.John served as a U.S. Navy/Marine pilot in World War II in the Pacific. He attended East Texas Baptist College where he met his wife Fay, received his undergraduate degree and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned his Masters of Divinity.John Rasberry was a Southern Baptist pastor for over 50 years. John pastored in Texas in several communities including Melrose, Center, Ladonia, Southmayd, Van Alstyne, and Mansfield, as well as five years in Houston.He served in Bozeman, Montana as pastor and leader of the Baptist Student Ministries at Montana State University. He returned to Texas and pastored in Lake Dallas, TX. John served through Denton County Cooperative Ministries. He served as the Chaplain at Good Samaritan Village and played the pipe organ for a local congregation during his latter years.

Rev. Rasberry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fay Evelyn Steed Rasberry, and four children, Barbara Boucher and husband Robert of Nacogdoches, TX, John Benjamin Rasberry III, and wife Helen of Lantana, TX, Mary Gage and husband David of Gunter, TX, and James Dale Rasberry and wife Susan of Rowlett, TX. The Rasberrys have eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Rev. Rasberry was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Laverne Newton and Mary Ellen Duncan.Graveside service will be held for the family at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Family visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3 from 6-7:30 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors.A memorial service will be Thursday, March 4 at 4 p.m. in the DeBerry Funeral Directors Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Good Samaritan Scholarship Fund, 2500 Hinkle Dr. Denton, TX 76201-0739.
