In a season where 500-yard games and 50-point scores became the norm, few stood out like Denton Ryan quarterback Scotty Young. On Wednesday, he was named the Offensive Player of the Year for The Associated Press Class 4A All-State team.

Jeremy Cummings, Garland: He had 12 tackles, three for loss, three sacks and two QB hurries.
Josh Dorman, Birdville: He fell just short of a state record-tying offensive performance in a 63-28 win over Azle on Friday.
Jonovan Griffin, McKinney Boyd: scored four touchdowns and threw for four more against Mckinney.
Scotty Young, Denton Ryan: He completed 27-41 passes for 550 yards and 8 touchdowns in Denton Ryan's 70-63 win over McKinney.
Johnny Catalano, TCA-Addison: had TD runs of 62, 83, 43 and 1 yards as the private-school Trojans upset Celina.
Ladarius Brown, Waxahachie: He returned fumbles for touchdowns of 60 and 78 yards.
