The man who is getting most of the credit for rescuing a woman from a burning car along LBJ Freeway yesterday morning has said several times that there were other people who aided in the effort. One of those people was Sherrie Wilson, Dallas' first female firefighter and a 33-year veteran of Dallas-Fire Rescue.
Wilson was off-duty at the time of the wreck and just happened to be driving by. This is her unedited account of the wreck and the heroes who worked together to save a stranger:
Awesome job!
That was an incredible account of what America is all about. This letter should be posted on the internet and sent around the country. Jerry
I met Sherry several years ago when I worked at a big corporation where she taught CPR classes. In person, she is an impressive individual and I have never forgotten her. It was not easy for her to become the first female firefighter in the Dallas Fire Department, but she did it and paved the way for more. She is definitely a person who has the strength of her convictions and, more importantly, her faith.
if she is qualified then why is this a big deal because she is a women
its all based on a person being qualified and the standards not lowered to accomadate them
so a hero is a hero
and we have seen how many times the media lies or jumps the gun on these Ya see moments
