Nearing the end of an injury-plagued season, the SMU women still have their goals in sight after beating Southern Miss, 81-66, Saturday.

SMU signed Jerry LeVias as the Southwest Conference's first black scholarship football player in 1965. As Black History Month ends this weekend, it's worth noting the school's involvement in that area goes back almost two decades earlier.
