Basketball: Lady Warriors fall in TAPPS title game

MANSFIELD –Liberty Christian mounted a furious fourth-quarter rally, only to see its hopes of a TAPPS 4A girls basketball state championship dashed when Houston Westbury Christian hit two of its 11 three-pointers for the game in overtime and held on for a 73-68 win. “Its pick your poison with them,” Liberty Christian coach Ken Burroughs said. “They have a point guard who scored 36 [Friday] night and a strong inside player. Stop them inside and they hurt you outside. They stepped up and made big shots.”
