Browsing the produce at Sprouts Farmers Market almost always induces a double take. In addition to advertised specials, the supermarket designates spontaneous manager's specials at shockingly low prices.

Two pounds of SunBursts cherry tomatoes were $1.50 at Sprouts.

On a recent visit, I bought a 2-pound container of yellow cherry tomatoes for $1.50. At most supermarkets, that same amount would cost well over $8. Twelve-ounce containers of blackberries were two for $4 – the price some markets charge for one tiny container. Generally, the manager's specials are the same at all North Texas Sprouts locations while supplies last.

Weekly advertised specials are announced on Wednesdays and last eight days, which means you can take advantage of two weeks' worth of specials if you shop on a Wednesday. This week's produce specials, which are good through Wednesday, include large Rio Red grapefruit for 19 cents each, red and yellow bell peppers for 69 cents each, and Mineola tangelos or honey tangerines for 77 cents a pound.
