Oil prices tumble on economy worries

Oil prices tumbled today on new signs that the economy remains weak and that demand for crude is still tepid at best. Benchmark crude for April delivery fell $2.80 to $77.20 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose $1.14 to settle at $80 on Wednesday.

Plaintiffs in La. suit say Exxon ‘reckless' with worker safety

Exxon Mobil Corp., the largest U.S. energy company, showed “reckless and reprehensible” behavior by failing to protect workers from dangerous radioactive material in used oil-drilling pipes, a lawyer for 16 men told a Louisiana jury.

Oil rally fizzles, drops below $80 a barrel

Benchmark crude for April delivery lost $1.45 to settle at $78.86 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. In London, Brent crude fell $1.32 at $77.29 on the ICE futures exchange.

Indian firm hikes Lyondell bid to $14.5 billion

Reliance Industries Ltd., owner of the world's largest oil-refining complex, raised its offer for bankrupt LyondellBasell Industries AF to about $14.5 billion, according to two people with knowledge of the offer.
